Local Arts Leader Holly Theuns Joins St. Lucie Cultural Alliance Team
Fort Pierce, FL – St. Lucie Cultural Alliance is proud to announce that longtime St. Lucie County resident and local arts leader Holly Theuns has joined the St. Lucie Cultural Alliance team. Theuns, also an artist, previously served as executive director of Art Mundo, and as a staff member of the A.E. Backus Museum. She is active with Main Street Fort Pierce, The St. Lucie Historical Society, Heathcote Botanical Gardens and serves on the City of Fort Pierce Historical Preservation Board, Contractor Vetting Board, and was recently appointed to the Art and Culture Advisory Board.
“I’m excited to be joining the experienced team that has established the foundation organization to take art and culture in St. Lucie County to the next level,” said Theuns. “I know that with leadership and experience of this team, and with strong County support, we can establish art and culture as a key economic driver and start to realize our combined full potential.”
St. Lucie County invited Brevard Cultural Alliance to serve as consultants to work with the local community to build and grow the St. Lucie Cultural Alliance. Since forming in early 2018, the local arts agency has launched a digital hub for arts and culture, promoted local artists, cultural organizations, and events, and has formed meaningful collaborations with the Sunrise Theatre, St. Lucie County Tourism Division, the City of Port St. Lucie, and many others.
“As excited as we were to be invited, by the County, to work with the sector in growing the St. Lucie Cultural Alliance, we are even more excited to add the experience and relationships that Holly brings,” said Neil Levine, executive director of Brevard Cultural Alliance.
Theuns: “We’ve always had the power, we just needed a way to connect our building blocks to create the platform that will make St. Lucie County the cultural heart of the Treasure Coast. St. Lucie Cultural Alliance gives us that platform.”
Theuns can be reached at the St. Lucie Cultural Alliance office located at County Administration, 2300 Virginia Avenue, in Fort Pierce, or by calling (772) 462-2783, e-mail holly.theuns@artstlucie.org.
