Two-Part Vessel Decorating w/Cathleen
April 16 @ 12:00 pm - May 17 @ 3:00 pm
$120
April 16th & May 7th
This class is geared to those that can create a cylindrical vessel on the pottery wheel or a hand-built cylindrical vessel. The decorative aspect will be the same. This class is for those experienced enough to create these builds independently. After the pieces are created and given some time to set up, the creative process begins and following a demonstration, students work on the first part of the decorative process. Work must be trimmed and placed on the bisque shelf to fire it timely for the second class: the final decorative process with specialty glazes. Students are strongly encouraged to bring a notebook and take notes on the process.
Materials: Clay purchased from the studio and Amaco underglazes colors of your choice and black underglaze.
During the second class, the instructor will demonstrate the next steps in the decorative process on your bisque-fired vessel to achieve the results depicted in the photographs.
