Tile Workshop with Rob Buller

This is a 6-week tile workshop creating 4, 6-inch tiles that are bas-relief decorated with underglazes. Students provide their own 13″ x 13″ photographic image or drawing. Images can be blown up at a Staples or Office Max and will be discussed on the first day of class. Alternatively, students may use a 6-inch repeater image. This course is 6 weeks and chock full of techniques including, carving, sculpting in low relief, Sgraffito & Mishima, tile making, decorating with slips and underglazes, and optional bisque mold making if time allows. Students leave with a finished product mounted and ready to hang in their homes. The final pieces are approximately 14” by 14″. and there will be discussion on mounting options before the completion of the work. The finished product is student’s choice and will be discussed during the first class.
