Description
After 38 years as an educator, I am now in retirement and pursuing art in various forms. Art was always a major component throughout my teaching. I have always oil painted. Now, I am having so much fun learning new mediums and techniques. My latest endeavor is hand-sewn bags and purses.
Yet, in reality, I am still very involved in education. Currently, I am on the Board of Trustees for Heathcote Botanical Gardens, developing education programs and the Education Director for the A.E. Backus Museum and Gallery. Just cannot let the teaching go. I have been writing a curriculum for the St. Lucie County School District about A.E. Backus and The Highwaymen. We have such a rich cultural heritage for our children to learn about and come to respect. And to add to that...I am starting a free sewing school for youth.
I look forward to serving our county in many varied capacities with regard to education and our children. Just let me know how I can help. Bring me your ideas.
