Bio
My name is Mimi Alvarez Williams, and I am a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. I was born in Cuba and came to the United States when I was three years old. My parents always encouraged my interest in drawing and coloring. (Even when I colored all over the walls!) My favorite gift still remains art supplies, and my favorite scent is still a fresh box of crayons! I attended and graduated from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and have either worked as a freelance artist or teacher since my graduation. I have been awarded my Master's Degree in Theology and still enjoy helping young people learn and grow in their artistic ventures.
My past experiences include working as a staff artist at Columbia Pictures Publication in North Miami, I was affiliated with Art Mundo and was Calendar Artist with them. I have had five shows, most recently in Fort Pierce, FL, with Wine Down Wednesdays. I am also a live event painter and have painted at musical events (both outdoor and indoor.) Presently, my work is featured on Hutchinson Island at the Paradise Emporium and Real Estate of Florida offices. I was also a featured artist in Stuart, FL with Art Find. My inspiration comes from the beauty of Florida, from the tropical colors, and the unique wildlife that surrounds us.
