Description
I am Liberian-born, worldly raised, fashion impacted, an evolving culture enthusiast with a passion for comedy and design. I hold an M.A in Intercultural, Leadership, and Management with a focus on Sustainable Development/Conflict Transformation, and a B.A in Sociology with Minor: Youth Studies. When not designing, I work as an International Project Consultant, explore the outdoors, and travel with my family. Through my travels and employment, I witnessed firsthand the dire situations young people were subjected to. Witnessing the economic inequality facing talented youth left an impact on my worldview. However, my interaction with these young people and art was the catalyst that led to the creation of Arway Bags.
Arway Bags made from the finest textiles, hide (leather), and wood to ensure durability. I handpick cloths, skins, and wood that make each bag unique. I strive to use materials produced locally or recycled when feasible. Selected materials are infused into each collection making them unique and timeless. In collaboration with youth makers, I can turn my imagination into reality. Each design inspire and educate the one who finds beauty in it. ARWAY bags use Art as a vehicle for social change. The end goal is to create beneficial economic opportunities for all involved while enhancing skills. STRIVE-A non-profit created to strengthen artists and youth seeking to expand their business or seek education. STRIVE support Art as a vehicle for social change. 10% of proceeds generated from Arway Bags funds STRIVE initiatives. Hoping each design inspires beauty and educates the one who beholds it.
