Bio
Linda Reymore is an award-winning contemporary artist whose work explores the limitless possibilities of non-objective abstraction. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts from St. Mary's College, at Notre Dame, Indiana, she later expanded her creative expertise with a Master of Science in Marketing Communications from Roosevelt University in Chicago while working in the world of advertising. Her journey as an artist took a significant turn in the mid-1970s when she held a solo exhibition in North Carolina, with several of her works finding a home in a corporate collection. Though her career led her beyond the studio, she remained deeply connected to the arts, serving on arts councils, volunteering, and spending 17 years as the President and Executive Director of the Treasure Coast Youth Symphony. Now fully immersed in her art practice, Linda actively exhibits her work in local, national, and international galleries and online exhibitions and publications.
ARTIST STATEMENT As an artist, I find beauty in the precision, clarity, and resonance of non-objective, hard-edge, and geometric painting. My work is not about representing the world as we see it, but rather about exploring the relationships between form, color, and composition. By removing recognizable imagery, I create a space where shapes, lines, and patterns take center stage, inviting viewers to engage on a deeper, more intuitive level. I am drawn to the structure and balance that geometric abstraction provides—crisp edges, clean transitions, and carefully placed elements establish a sense of rhythm and harmony that can be both calming and dynamic. Symmetry and repetition naturally resonate with the human eye, creating a sense of order and elegance, while color plays an integral role in my work, acting as an emotional force that influences mood and perception. Whether through bold contrasts, subtle gradients, or unexpected combinations, I use color to evoke energy, movement, and contemplation.
The beauty of non-objective, geometric art lies in its ability to transcend time and cultural references, existing in a space of pure visual form, where meaning is not fixed but fluid. While my work is carefully composed, I embrace the freedom this style allows—each viewer brings their own interpretation and emotional response, making the experience of the artwork personal and unique. The structured repetition and balance in my compositions create a meditative quality, encouraging quiet contemplation and deeper engagement. My goal is to create work that is both visually striking and thought-provoking, inviting viewers to slow down, immerse themselves in the rhythm of the elements I present and find their own connections within my art.
