Description
Encaustic is an ancient art that has resurfaced recently and is beeswax mixed with damar resin and pigment, heated on a hot pallet, and painted onto a ridged surface, each layer fused with a torch. The beauty of this medium is the ability to scrape away and create this luminous painting with depth and dimension. This painting has several coats of shellac mixed with pigment and burned with a torch to create the feathering feature atop the painting.
