As I wandered around Panama City, Panama, I came across this abandoned building with an exposed staircase. The lighting and composition were striking, and I knew had another amazing image of a place with a history in time I could hardly imagine.

More arches frame the passageways throughout the fort with elongated shadows reminding me of my long day here. The fading colors of the walls and bricks of this centuries-old fort are a beautiful sight to see.
The dark passageway among the corridors of Castillo de San Cristobal fort in San Juan, Puerto Rico was breathtaking. This moody image forces me to think about the tough times and hardships many went through during the active days of this fort.
