Mom told me I was destined to be an artist the moment she discovered I covered a windowsill with a lead pencil. Stranger yet, I was in a crib. I'm guessing this motivated me Into discovering my Interest in creating art. In 1st grade, my first recognition came from the principal, who proudly hung my large painting of a jungle scene, complete with scantily dressed natives, following a safari hunter, with various jungle animals looking on. I was supposed to paint a Valentine's Day painting for our mother.
Fast forward, I continued to create art out of various mediums throughout my life I'm self-taught, paint with oil/acrylic, and prefer impressionistic work, and have named my style - Tropaslan. This incorporates a tropical/Asian feel. I love to have wild animals as subjects. When inspired, I create multiple paintings in a short period. I've done murals, created realistic-looking wild animals out of queen palm bark, along with turning ghords into creations. When I quit displaying publicly, I still continue to create and donate pieces to my favorite charities, not surprisingly, animal shelters. I'm a full-time resident of St. Lucie West, moving here from Michigan 26 years ago.
